Tyler Wilsoonlose

Tyler Wilsoonlose

Tyler Wilson thinks that I should lose the iTricks Trick Of The Year Tournament. But, let’s be honest, that’s never going to happen, especially since the iTricks crew have just posted an announcement saying that the creator that I’m backing is way ahead of the others.

As payback we’re going to have a quiz. The winner will get a free copy of Movers & Shakers delivered right to their door by their very own postman. To enter, you must first vote for my product on the iTricks Trick Of The Year (that isn’t really necessary, but it will help you win) and also tell me which of the following statements are made up.

The winner will be the first person to correctly identify all made-up statements by posting a comment below:

1. Tyler Wilson owns a set of hair straighteners.

2. Tyler Wilson isn’t his real name. It is Trevor Wilson.

3. Tyler Wilson pixalises if you hold a magnifying glass up against him.

4. A little girl recently asked her mummy why Tyler Wilson had such hairy skin.

5. Under all that hair Tyler Wilson actually has scales.

6. Tyler Wilson needs to use two hands to execute a Charlier Pass.

7. Tyler Wilson is afraid of mice and worms.

8. Tyler Wilson showed Martin Gardner a photo of three naked old men doing some very adult things to each other.

9. Tyler Wilson applies wax strips to his hairy chest on the 1st December and then peels a little bit off a bit every day during the holiday season to create his very own advent calendar.

10. Tyler Wilson has never seen the Grinch, Frosty, Miracle on 34th, A Christmas Story.

11. Tyler Wilson has a contribution in Hugard’s Magic Monthly.

12. In his book, Dominatricks, Tyler Wilson misspells the word “Frankfurter.”

13. Tyler Wilson loves the movie Dirty Dancing so much that he went to see the anniversary showing at the theater.

Yes, indeed. A vote for Gladwin all of a sudden got a little bit sweeter. Tyler will soon lose.

Andi Gladcannotwin

Andi Gladcannotwin

Hey Guys,

Merry whatever, blah blah blah. Let’s get to the real issue:

Andi cannot be allowed to win the iTricks contest. I am calling on Cloggers everywhere to head over to iTricks and take part in their Trick Of The Year Tournament. Vote FOR me and AGAINST Andi.

You may be wondering why I would ask you to vote against my good buddy Andi Gladwin, well let’s just say his record isn’t so sparkling clean. Allow me to list some of his unforgivable pasttimes:

- He once beat a baby seal by hitting it with another baby seal.

- You know all the magic DVDs and books being shared around for free on the internet? Andi started every one of them.

- Andi originally wanted to call this “The Ylog: We’re 23 Letters Better”

- Andi lent those two girls his cup.

- Andi is a girl’s name

- Andi still believes in Santa (although he’s convinced Prancer was killed in an offshore oil explosion).

- He’s British

So there you have it, incontrovertible proof that Andi does not deserve to win. Let’s band together and show him what Clogs are made of! (other than wood)

Michael Ammar Facts

Michael Ammar

Here are a few facts about Michael Ammar:

  • Michael Ammar has “ATFUS4EVER” tattooed under his mustache.
  • Michael Ammar doesn’t need Easy to Master Miracles. You do.
  • Michael Ammar hasn’t met you. But you’ve met him.
  • Michael Ammar trailed the dovetail shuffle to its lair. And then killed it.
  • Michael Ammar doesn’t cull cards. He just stares at the cards until they jump into the order he wants them to be.
  • The only hand that can beat a royal flush is Michael Ammar’s hand.

For those that don’t know, Michael Ammar Facts are kind of like the famous Chuck Norris Facts, but features magic’s superhero instead of the world’s superhero, Chuck Norris.

I should give an explanation of this. Tyler Wilson started a thread on TSD that got out of hand and Aaron DeLong decided to take it even further by making an entire website about it. Tyler, Aaron, Jason Dean, Jamie Badman, myself and a few others are to blame for many of the facts but Aaron is to blame for taking it way too far and turning it into a website. Congratulations Aaron - I’m proud of you!

Go visit the website and submit some facts for yourself. Michael Ammar doesn’t mind (OK, that is the only fact might not be true!):

Online Sessioning

Online card tricks

Hey Clog dudes it’s Luke. This time we’ll be talking about something that I’ve used quite a bit over the past few months and thought I’d share with the group.

If you don’t have people in your town to session with or just don’t have the time then don’t worry..the internet saves you again! If you use Skype you can hookup a headset and webcam and not only talk to your magic buddies but session with them in real time as well. This comes in handy especially for my friends in other countries who I’m only able to actually hang out with once or twice a year. The only ‘problem’ with Skype (and MSN Messenger) is that you can only session with one other person. There’s a new place though (www.mebeam.com) that allows you to have multiple people on webcam streaming live at the same time. There is one catch with mebeam and it’s that the audio sucks and there is a bad delay. The solution is a piece of cake though, just mute the audio on mebeam and use the audio function of Skype to get a conference going with the group.

It’s nice coming up with new material and being able to get instant feedback on your ideas. Personally for me it’s helped the creative process move at a much quicker pace. Have fun, just be warned that the hours seem to fly by when you are sessioning from the comfort of your own home. Okay enough typing … must … session!

Clog on!

New blogs on the block

Magic blog

Two of my good friends have recently started new magic blogs and because I’ve been enjoying what they have written so far, I thought I would point them out here in case you haven’t seen them yet.

Joshua Jay’s blog
I often contribute to Josh’s column in MAGIC Magazine and always enjoy his magic. That’s why I was pleased to see that he’s started a blog providing updates about his travels (of which he does so much he should be careful of deep vein thrombosis!), his performances and his product line. Every time I talk to Josh he tells me about his latest interesting new projects that he’s working on, so this is definitely one to keep a look out for.

Richard Morrell’s Watching Magic
Richard and I have been friends for years which means I’m allow to do some bragging for him. He was the first person ever to start a magic blog about and frequently posts at his first blog, The Magician. However, he’s recently started a second magic blog called Watching Magic and I’m certainly enjoying his posts on this site just as much as the first.

Please drop these two guys a visit and support their ventures. And remember, every blogger loves to receive comments, so why not let them know your thoughts about their posts?

Welcome to the clog!
This blog is the collaborative effort of close-up magicians Andi Gladwin, Luke Dancy and Tyler Wilson. We're here to entertain you by discussing magic and having fun!
