52 Memories winners

When I released Jack Parker’s 52 Memories I promised everyone that pre-ordered would be entered into a draw to win one of fifty-two limited edition books containing more of Jack Parker’s magic. With absolutely no exceptions, these books will never be printed again. There are only fifty-two copies in existence and they’re all being given away.

The book is called The First Five and contains the first five tricks that Jack Parker ever published. None of them were included in 52 Memories, but they all stand alone as excellent pieces of card magic. There’s a great Triumph effect (with the normal Jack Parker twist), a fantastic small packet Brainwave style effect and some excellent mental card magic. In all, it’s a really good collection of tricks from one of card magic’s finest creators.

This morning I randomly selected the fifty-two lucky winners from my database. For those interested in the selection procedure, I simply ran a select statement which returned me fifty-two random results. I’ll be sending out all copies over the next week and will contact all winners by email to let them know that their book is en route to them.

A friendly request: I know a lot of people will have an urge to contact me asking if they’ve won a copy of the book, but I ask that you simply keep an eye on your mailbox and wait for me to contact you because so many people pre-ordered the book replying to everyone would take me a loooong time!

I really hope that the winners enjoy Jack’s magic and treasure their complementary limited-edition books.

If you’d like to get your hands on this book but didn’t pre-order 52 Memories, I’m afraid that they won’t be available. However, there are fifty-two amazing tricks in my latest hard back 52 Memories.

52 Memories - launching soon!

52 Memories

Update: 52 Memories is out now!

As I previously announced, I have spent pretty much the entire of last year working on Jack Parker’s 52 Memories. I’ve had quite a few emails and messages about the status of the book so thought I’d post a brief run-down of what’s going on.

I received my preview copy a few weeks ago and I am ecstatic about just how well it has been put together. Size wise, it’s a massive book. And quality wise everything I wanted the book to be and hopefully everything that Jack would have wanted it to be too. I am incredibly excited and wish I had more copies so that I could start releasing them and getting people’s reactions and opinions. My aim was always to get the book out before Christmas, but after a pretty big delay from the shipping company, I had to postpone that plan. But, the good news is that we’re now ready and the book will be launch at The Session 2008 on 27th January, where we’ll be hosting a special tribute to Jack Parker.

But, for those that won’t be at The Session 2008, I’ll be accepting pre-orders for the book from this weekend. You’ll need to be a member of my newsletter to be the first to hear when pre-ordering opens. You’ll also hear about how everyone that pre-orders (or purchases from The Session) will be given the chance to win a free copy of a very exclusive, limited edition Jack Parker book.

And I have more good news too … I now also have an American distributor as well as a UK distributor. This means that if you order the book from Europe or North America, you’ll get it within a matter of days. Other continents will be served from the location that will get them the book the quickest (which due to my sneaky location of distributors, really shouldn’t be longer than a week). This is a big step forward for Andi Gladwin Publications and I hope it will really add to the service that we give.

So, stay tuned to The Clog and don’t forget to sign up to my newsletter to be the first to get hold of 52 Memories!

Movers and Shakers hits the shelves

Movers & Shakers

It’s okay, you’re not alone.

Tyler Wilson and I feel your pain as a move monkey and have arrived to make it worse! Movers & Shakers is our newly released book that introduces 10 new card moves with absolutely no applications whatsoever. This is all about the sleights and we’re not ashamed to admit it!

Here’s what you’ll learn:

  • Colour Changes that will send Crayola into chapter eleven
  • Double Turnovers more fluid than the Atlantic Ocean
  • Controls that inspired the name of TV’s hottest show; “Lost”
  • Forces more deceptive than a Decepticon
  • False Displays that pull fraud charges in twenty-seven states
  • Secret Reversals more difficult to spot than a deep-fried Twinkie’s nutritional content
  • And more without a single suggestion for where to use them

I’m really proud of this little book. It’s 52 pages long with a thick, glossy cover. The writing is fun, the design is funky and the moves are fooling! So, if you’re looking at working on some great new moves, you better shake yourself over to the Movers & Shakers homepage:

Or, if you’re sold already, just click here and spend your £12 (approx. $24) wisely:

Jack Parker book in the works

Jack Parker magic book

If you have read Jack Parker’s latest Magicana in the recent Genii you will probably know that I’m working on a book of his magic. Since Jack’s article appeared in Genii, I’ve had lots of emails asking me about the book, its release date etc, so I thought I’d post up a few brief details about the book and give a short progress report.

The book will contain, amongst other things, 52 of Jack’s favourite creations. Over half of the book consists of unpublished card tricks, but since this is a best-of collection, owners of Jack’s other material would have seen some of the tricks before. I’m writing everything from scratch based on how Jack has taught the material to me either in person, on video or in print. Given that a decent number of the items from the book are multi-phased routines, this is going to be a massive book that will span several hundred large-sized pages.

Unfortunately, I can’t give an estimated release date, because it depends on so many factors. However, I can tell you that the first half of the book is currently being illustrated while I add the finishing touches to the second half. Around half of the book has already been edited and reviewed by Jack, but we still have a fair amount of work to do before we send it to the printers.

Those who are aware of Jack’s devasting health problems will understand the purpose of this book and the reason that Jack is sharing all of his favourite creations. Jack has requested that I spend as much time as required on this book to ensure that it is the best product as can be, so I won’t be rushing this book into print. It will take time, but it will be better because of it.

I’ll try to post updates as the project reaches important milestones, but for now if anyone has any further questions about the book please feel free to post a comment. I welcome your questions and am happy to tell you more about the project.

Dominatricks Two Point Oh

Dominatricks

Hey Gents,

It is my pleasure to announce the second edition of Dominatricks!

The first edition is sold out. The second edition is pimped out. Andi has gone above and beyond with the new publication. It is now hardcover and loaded with extras. I am extremely proud of its sheer quality, so allow me to publicly thank Andi for all his hard work and dedication. Um, thank you.

Shortly after the rave reviews started appearing in the major magazines, the first edition sold out remarkably quickly. So for all of you who have been asking when the book will become available again, the answer is now.

And I would also like to thank all of you who have already purchased the book and helped make it a success. I have only one thing to say to you:

No, you cannot have your money back.

Tyler Wilson
